Mystic & New York City!!

This morning before we left town we strolled around the quiet streets of Mystic for an hour or so. It's really a beautiful town. Scott mentioned that a fun trip would be to come up here and just do all the little beach towns. We did several of the little boutiques and Thomas and Scott had a blast in the Army/Navy store...
He wanted this picture taken and posted on the blog so that perhaps his "man card" could be reinstated!

We ate at a restaurant that specialized in grilled cheese for lunch! You pick the bread and what you want inside it. Delicious!

Afterwards, we headed into NYC. We did good except for a bit of traffic and one wrong exit in the Bronx! But, we made it safely to our hotel where we changed clothes and headed out on the town for a quick bite before our Broadway show. Naturally we had pizza. Pretty much that's all Scott would like to eat while we are here. That and Black and White cookies and bagels. That's his diet when in NYC! Don't worry I'll post pictures for those of you who've never seen a black and white cookie. We don't have them in Texas!

After our dinner of pizza, we went to see the Broadway revival of "Grease."
Taylor Hicks, season 5 American Idol winner, was the Teen Angel. He was awesome!

The show was great, but the best part was watching the kids. You may remember that a year ago Grace and I came to NYC to celebrate her birthday and I took her to her first show then. She was just as amazed this time! Mandy and Thomas were too. Thomas is such a big music lover and Mandy was mesmerized by all the people singing and dancing.
When the show was over, we stopped at a deli for dessert before going back to the hotel. Thomas has a message for Grandpa...."Eat your heart out Grandpa!" (He had a little prompting from dad!) They both really enjoyed the cake though!

Grace had cheesecake...her NY favorite...

We took a cab back to the hotel since they were all so sleepy. Mandy LOVES the cab rides. Car seat laws are suspended for children in taxi cabs in NYC. What would you do with the seat while you saw the show or whatever? So, she doesn't ride in a car seat in the cab, and I think the freedom of that makes her a little crazy! She has to hold all the handles and stick her head through the hole and check everything out up front!Tomorrow we are going to Chinatown and if it doesn't rain the Central Park Zoo! Since we've all been here a few times now, we are trying to do some different things this time!
Blessings,
Leslie

Scott's "Man card" is back to green status. Word of caution: Any humming of "Broadway Show-Tunes" at next week's poker game could result in further sanctions.
