And the ones we have, they grow bigger up here. This is the biggest dandelion I have ever seen!
We drove around to the North side of the lake first, to check out the lodge and see the lake. The kids found this "antique" phone in the lodge...
We walked over the scenic overlook and down the trail for a little ways...
It was a trail on the side of a pretty steep cliff down to the water. The girls and I got behind a little bit and when we caught up, Scott had Thomas hanging over the steep side standing on this tree. I about had a heart attack!
Then of course, not to be outdone by a boy, all the girls had to have a turn as well.
Then, we drove to the other side of the lake and took a boat across. This was Jayme, the boat driver, who the kids got to know while we waited.
Mandy named the different mountains while we were on the boat. Papa Teton, Mama Teton etc...and Cousin Owen! It's Mount Owen. Crazy kid.
From the boat dock is a 1 mile hike up to Inspiration Point. Took us about an hour to go up and back down. Saw a little squirrel/chipmunk...
The water is so. stinking. clean! Thomas filled up his water bottle in the river and later we couldn't tell which one was Mandy's bought water and which one was river water....

Everyone did well on the 2 mile hike except Mandy who refused to wear tennis shoes and was mad the whole way...
They stopped for awhile to take their shoes off and wade in the water. It was COLD! Their feet were bright red when they got out.
On the way down Thomas and the big girls were in front of us and saw a snake. The entire mountain knew it too from all the screaming! We were just a few feet behind and never saw it so I'm assuming it had a heart attack from the fright and slithered off to die in peace.
We took the boat back and then rented a canoe and a kayak...
The lake is a former glacier and the water is perfectly clear...
By this point it was after 6 and everyone was toast! We ate at Dornan's on the way back to the cabin. I have resisted posting food pics, but this one was too good not to. Smoked salmon fettuchini in white wine cream sauce. Yum!
We are now back at the cabin packing up and doing laundry. I'm headed out to the store to replenish the snack bag and cooler. We will leave early tomorrow morning for Vail, Colorado. Long day in the car.
We have LOVED our time here in Jackson Hole and are already exploring the possibility of coming here for spring break to go skiing!!

After checking up on Kelli Johnson and crew, I noticed that her sidebar still has your blog...and that you are on a road trip. SO FUN!! Makes me want to pack up and go! Enjoy the rest of your trip!
