We didn't leave the room until noon today. Yesterday's long drive did us all in. Everyone got to sleep until they woke up. It was a beautiful thing.
Vancouver is really, really pretty. It's all on the water. Downtown is mostly high rise residential. It's really different.
We went to Granville Island in search of lunch. The whole tiny island is a market. These are some of my favorite places. We've been to these in Boston, and Philadelphia. I LOVE them. Sort of like the food court at the mall, but for Foodies! Scott and the kids had pizza. I went for the salmon burger at a fish and chips place...
Trying out some White Tea Lemonade in the market...
The fruit up here is out of this world! We ate an entire pound of Ranier cherries today! They have berries up here that I've never even heard of...
The kids were fascinated by fact that there is a Chevron station in the middle of the water. This also happens to be the view from our hotel room...

Scott could not pass up this mint chocolate donut!
After lunch and fun at the food market, we moved over to the Children's Market. Found this at the bookstore and felt the need to take a pic, given that this seems to be a recurring theme this road trip. Yesterday we watched a car pull behind us and take a picture of the bumper sticker. Will. Not. End.
After a little fun at the puppet shop, we headed back to the hotel. The kids wanted to swim for a little while before dinner.
On the walk back to the car Thomas got this picture of a beautiful heron (?)...
After the swim, we cleaned up and walked to dinner in Gas Town. No joke. I couldn't even make that up. Had a wonderful dinner at an Italian place and did a little souvenir shopping. While we were walking around we saw several unusual people with lime green dreadlocks, chanting on the street, talking to themselves....etc. Mandy says, "These people are way creepy. I'm sooo glad I'm an American." Oh my.
Tomorrow morning we will drive back to the U.S. and on to Seattle. I cannot wait to see Mt. Ranier!
Blessings, Eh!,
Leslie
