Yosemite

This place is incredible!!! We are SO coming back here just to do this someday! The kids ran off to their day of Adventure Camp with nary a look back this morning. So, Scott, Mandy and I headed into Yosemite for the day. You drive up this winding road for quite a while and then BAM...this is the view...... I know....UNBELIEVABLE!! And this picture does NOT do it justice. The valley is breathtaking. We drove on to Yosemite Village to the Ansel Adams gallery and the village shops. From there, we hiked up to Yosemite Falls. It was a great stroller friendly path and not long at all to the lower falls. It was so cool! Even Mandy thought it was neat. She kept saying,"I see that water fall!" After we took a couple of pictures we hiked over the rocks to the water so we could put our feet in. Mandy had the best time splashing in the cool, clear water.
It was absolutely one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. There is no church or cathedral that man can build that can capture the glory of God like that which HE has created Himself. It's no wonder that here and at Muir woods they both have areas named Cathedral Falls and Cathedral Woods. That's absolutely what it's like.

After our short hike, we grabbed a bite of lunch. As you can see, Mandy had the chocolate mousse!
We drove back to the lodge and picked up Thomas and Grace. They were both talking ninety to nothing about their day. They'd been on a hike, played in the stream, fished, rode bicycles, did arts and crafts, climbed the rock climbing wall. The biggest hit of the day was the archery. Thomas was so excited because Grace got a bullseye. He now wants a bow for his birthday! They've both asked if we can come back here so that they can go back to camp for the day. We all decided to hit the pool, which is of course, a huge hit. This time we tried the outdoor pool since it was such a warm day. The water was still chilly, but that didn't stop them!Mandy learned to jump off the side of the pool and was very proud of herself. Tonight Scott took Thomas and Grace on a nighttime flashlight hike. Grace wasn't sure she wanted to go at first. There is alot of talk about the bears everywhere you go here, and I think she got a little scared that they might see one on the hike. But, in the end she decided to go anyway! We are checking out early tomorrow morning so we can make the long drive to Las Vegas, 488 miles!
Blessings,
Leslie
