Bed testing...

Sadly, hotel rooms are not made to accommodate a family of 5, and we are too cheap to get 2 rooms.  And, even if we did there is some type of hotel secret coalition that forbids the desk clerks from allowing you to have adjoining rooms. They give you a room next door that adjoins with some family you don't know, but not with your own people.  And, when you ask for adjoining rooms they look at  you with a look like you've just asked them for their firstborn child.  This is one life's great mysteries.

So, all that to say that we either put one child on the floor, with much whining, complaining and gnashing of teeth.  Or, both girls sleep with me in a full size bed where I spend the night being kneed in the back and elbowed in the face and there is not enough coffee on the planet to make me a happy person the next morning.  To prevent these scenarios I got online to explore portable sleeping options.  Air mattresses are a beating to travel with in my opinion.  They are heavy and even the ones that inflate /deflate themselves take forever with tired grumpy kids....and dads.
My solution to this was to order this foldable camping cot from Amazon.
It arrived this afternoon and had to be tested!

It was a hit!  Praise be!  It is now in the living room where there is apparently some unspoken rotation schedule for watching tv on it.  Thomas thought perhaps it might be more comfortable to sleep with your head at the foot of the cot (???) it quickly folded itself up with him in it and dumped him on the floor.
Those are Mandy's feet at the corner and yes, she was still in her pajama's at 6 p.m. Don't judge. During this bed trying madness my parents brought Grace home from her 4 day trip to Branson, MO where they bought out all the stores.  Just one tent away from a full blown circus.

Blessings,
Leslie
