American Idol catch up...

Ok..Ok..here it is. I've had several people in the last week ask me where my comments on AI are, and how the Milder house reacted to Jason's being voted off. Now, I'M asking myself if all these people are reading the blog and keeping up with what I am and am not writing on the blog then....WHERE ARE THEIR COMMENTS??!!! Dang it people it's just not polite to lurk on someones blog. Yes, there is such a thing as blog etiquette. We are gearing up for our huge Extreme Vacation and the kids LOVE to read the comments that you post while we are traveling, and to be honest I like it to. So...don't lurk..comment. Jane gets the award for best visitor to the blog...she NEVER reads and doesn't post...you should all aspire to be like her dang it!

Alright....AI last week...yes, Jason got voted off. Many have asked if Grace was sad. The answer is no...she was mad as an old wet hen! Wouldn't even talk to us about it, stomped off and slammed the door to her bedroom and went to bed. She stayed in snit about it for two days until her brother pointed out that he lives in Rockwall and goes to our church so maybe if he's not in Hollywood anymore he'll come home and want to go to church and we'll see him there. Good point Thomas.

Before I move on to my comments on the final three, indulge me in a few last comments on Jason's performance on AI...and I don't mean his singing (which was AWESOME). I'm talking about the performance of character. I was reading his exit interview on Entertainment Weekly this morning. They asked him how he felt about forgetting the lyrics on "Tambourine Man." His answer was,"...I just laughed it off. I don't ever take myself too seriously. I'm still just human. I do wish I hadn't done that, but whatever. It happened for a reason. I think I'm right where I'm supposed to be." That's some good raising folks. I LOVE this kid. You want to talk about a true American idol in the most literal definition...this kid is IT. Scott said he can't wait to buy Jason's first album....I can't wait to meet his Momma.

If you want to watch his interview with EW here is the link:http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2008/05/jason-castro-id.html

Thought I'd include one of my favorite Jason performances. We love you Jason...keep dreaming!!

Thoughts on the final three...
David Archuletta--Scares me. Apparently, from what I just read on Entertainment Weekly his father has been banned from the choosing of songs, and being present during his vocal rehearsals. Producer Nigel Lithgow said it was to relieve the pressure from the poor kid. When I look at his eyes while he's singing, I just can't help but think that he's not living his dream, but someone elses. Based on this week's performance I really think the Disney channel should snatch this kid up immediately. He would make a great addition to their musical successes like Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. Oh..and could someone get the kid a tube of chapstick??

Syesha--Love her. I think she'll have a brilliant career on Broadway, and IMO that is NOT a bad thing. In fact, I look forward to attending one of her performances. Didn't care for the chair dancing thing this week, but loved the way she said "chay er," ....love that southern drawl! I think she's precious and has carried herself beautifully throughout this entire competition.

David Cook--Hmm. According to pop culture's definition of American Idol...he should probably win. Loved his version of "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." I think that of the three he has the best chance of a true money making pop/rock career. Now, having said that I think he is extremely arrogant and if I only had to listen to him sing and never hear him talk or look at him, I might, MIGHT vote for him.

On that note, I won't be voting anymore this season. Jason's gone and I just can't bring myself to vote for any of the other three. The thrill is gone so to speak.

I think unfortunately Syesha is gone this week. I would love for it to be Archie, but I think the teeny bopper vote will keep him in, if not, sadly, win it for him (or should I say.. his dad?!).

Blessings,
Leslie

Okay, I'll try to quit lurking, but I'm usually reading too late at night to type well or be coherent :). I was thinking of you all when I heard Jason didn't make the cut. But if America's "idols" were chosen because of their character, he would be the winner.
Love Grace's haircut - she looks older already :).
And on another note, I love the music playing, however Jason's links aren't working anymore, at least on my computer, and the music didn't stop when I tried to watch his video.
Okay, can't wait to see your trip itinerary.
Lots of Love!
