Let the packing begin!

Well, I've begun to pack. I set up our 4 ft. table that we use for parties, and everytime I see something that needs to be packed I put it there. I've done this for the last couple of days and the thing is already completely covered and there is stuff piled underneath it! Packing for a family of five to be gone for 15 days is unbelievable. Scott wants us to pack "lite" so that we can put everything in the car when we stop at the attractions. He's worried about it being stolen off the trailer hitch shelf thing on the back. I'm not sure "lite" is an option here. It's not clothes that are the problem. I'm fine with washing clothes along the way, its the medicine, sunscreen, toiletries, games, snacks, diapers, pack-n-play, etc. Clothes are the easy part.

Then, there is the shoe issue. One pair of shoes for everyone? or beach shoes and tennis shoes? Grace has never liked to wear shoes. Recently she has discovered the joys of flip flops. Flip flops are like the Holy Grail to Grace lately. She refuses to wear anything else. I'm a little concerned about all the walking we are likely to do in some places. Are flip flops sufficient? I've finally given up on her not wearing them to school. As a teacher, I know how they hate kids to wear them to school. But, it was becoming a huge fight every morning, so I just gave up. I guess I'll pack a pair of tennis shoes just in case, but she'll probably never wear them.

Pack lite? Whatever.
