The Christmas decorations were amazing. They have all these little animated elves and santa's in the shop windows. In this little village they had these singing and dancing monkeys...so our monkey had to join in!
Since this was our last day in Adare we did some serious lace and linen shopping! Bought a few things for the girls hope chests. Then, we headed back to the manor because Scott wanted everyone to have the experience of driving on the left side. I went first and it is indeed different! Then, we let Grace drive. This picture sums up the experience for her...and for the rest of us!
Even Mandy got a turn sitting on Scott's lap...
There are old castle ruins on the manor property...
And, a few old abandoned houses from a bygone century or two...
Almost all the parking here is parallel..while on the left. And, because the streets are so narrow, you have to pull off as much as possible so you end up parking like this...
They do have supermarkets, but they are more the size of a large 7-11. The bakeries are fantastic...
Haven't seen a "real" santa, but several places we've been have had these statue ones made for sitting with...
You may have noticed that Thomas hasn't been in very many pictures. It's because he normally looks like this...
He is in photographer heaven here!
Since tonight was our last night we decided to grab a quick bite at what has become our favorite pub in the short time we've been here. We've had dinner here 3 times! The owner, Sean, has been great to sit and visit with us and give us advice on what to see and how to get there.
We are all a wee bit sad to be leaving our new little Irish home here in Adare tomorrow morning. We will drive back up to Dublin tomorrow and explore it tomorrow and Sunday and then it's off to the airport on Monday.
Irish Blessings,
Leslie
