Catching up...

I realize it's been eons since my last post! We've been busy, busy. Now that everyone is back in school all the activities have also begun once again. We only have one weeknight now that doesn't have a scheduled event! And, that doesn't even count Mandy who as of yet doesn't have any extra activities!
A few highlights from the past couple of weeks...
Mandy started Mother's Day Out.

She loves school. She hasn't cried once! In fact, she gets quite mad when she gets up in the mornings and it's NOT a school day.

Thomas is loving the fact that Clay and Hunter have moved to our neighborhood. He finally gets to see his best buddy since birth everyday at school. The last time they went to the same school was when they were 3!

Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit on Labor Day...Scott and I cleaned out the guest room and put all the furniture that was there up in Mandy's room. It was time for her to have some "big girl" furniture. Don't worry, if you come to visit us there is still plenty of room for you! We turned the former guest room into an office. Friends of Texas Public Schools has grown to the point that it was taking up lots of room in the house, so now Scott and I will have a place to work from home. We had a date night to IKEA to pick out office furniture. It was very reminiscent of our time together in Houston when we were newly married and did all our shopping at IKEA. It was fun until time to load the truck...We did manage to get it all in the truck, but we did end up hiring someone to put it all together!

After the remnants of Hurricane Ike blew through here, Thomas went out that Sunday to work on the stage he's been building in the backyard, and found this HUGE centipede...

He made me get the camera and take a picture because he insisted it be included here on the blog. Personally, I had never seen a centipede in the flesh...or exoskeleton? Kinda creepy. Scott scooped it up with a shovel and put it in the old, empty fish tank in the garage. It has been a huge attraction for all the neighbor kids. Not sure how long it's remains will be available for viewing, but for the time being it's still here. I'm sure if you drop by for a visit, it'll be the first thing he offers to show you. Boys.

We had Grandparents Day at the kids school last Friday....

And, Aunt Robyn visited Saturday and Sunday. I don't have pictures to post yet from the weekend, but I will soon and I'll post them when I do!

Hopefully, I'll be able to post more regularly now that we are all back in our school routine.

Blessings,

Leslie
